Little update
Well I've been pretty busy of late, working on developing my grad film, and this time i've genuinely been busy! Not a case of laziness, but writing scripts, story developments, character designs and biographies, you name it baby!
More updates soon. Promise.

A few more roughs...
An alternative style of jeans for Jo, high waist denim, much in the vein of The Runaways, and womens
70's Rock/Punk fashion.
Just playing around, trying to find out who she is. I do know that she is a bit of a poser, she thinks she's cooler than she really is and that she's the "star" of the band.
Basically she's pretty arrogant.

More roughs...
More roughs and trying to get a grip of drawing her.
she looks a bit young here, sometimes I can draw her the age I imagine and other times she just looks like a child, hopefully when I draw some attitude poses her character/personality will be more discovered.
Sorry for the poor grammar, me exhausted.

Rocking Out.
Okay, so here is more rough concepts of who I hope will be the hero for my next short.
Her guitar is a Gibson Firebird Studio Non-Reverse.
I know nothing about Guitars.
This started as a very rough doodle, then I got carried away, then I got bored and quit when it came to tidying, adding details and whatnot, but hey, I'm on holiday!

Some Roughs...
This person here is the lead singer/guitarist of the band Un Coeur Vaillant and also the planned hero/protagonist for what I hope will be my next short.
This is a Very early concept of her, so she'll change by the time the film goes in production.
If it goes into production that is.

Tu Veux Un Coup De Main?

I've been busy pretending to be a director for a one minute animated epic. Here is some of the incredible backgrounds ( or "decors" in French) provided by the amazing Toby Jackman and animation and colouring by the incredible Elena Pomares, with extra Mary Poppins' style compositing magic courtesy of Jean Bouthors.
I have to admit, the film is shaping up to look very cool.
I'm excited again.

Film sketches....
Drawings working out the course of action for my character, the first version wasn't working, so I hard to start from scratch, scratch being going back to basics about animation, I had forgotten a hell of a lot.

Polite
That's the hand of Louise "Goodkid Mustang"Cailliez who I had the pleasure of teaming up with to do what I would call improvisational animation, we animate a scene until we're bored of it, then we would work out how to end the scene. I had a lot of fun animating with gouache on plastic.
This was for a week long workshop with Phil Mulloy.
